Holy Cross will close at 2pm on Thursday, July 3. There is NO Adoration on Thursday evening.

Re-introducing Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
at Holy Cross this Fall!
Children’s Liturgy of the Word will take place during the Liturgy of the Word. After the Introductory Rites, Fr. Sal will call the children to the front of the church for a blessing and dismissal.
Volunteers then lead the children to a classroom, where we will offer a kid-friendly version of the Liturgy of the Word, homily, and prayers. The children are then brought back to Mass during the Offertory Hymn, so they can be with their families during the Eucharist.
No pre-registration is necessary. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is only for children in Junior Kindergarten through First Grade; children younger than four should remain with their parents.
We need volunteers! If you can share 1 or more Sundays each month, please contact Rachel Pietsch, rpietsch@holycrosslynchburg.org. CLOW Training and VIRTUS training and screening are required.

Faith Formation
Registration is now open for Faith Formation 2025-2026 for children entering
Kindergarten - 10th grade!
Classes will begin Sunday, September 14.
We are pleased to share that there are no fees for Faith Formation for this upcoming school year.
If your child will celebrate a sacrament this year (First Holy Communion/First Reconciliation OR Confirmation), please be sure to complete the last page of the form (link below) for that child.

Ladies of Charity is sponsoring a Collection Drive to benefit Miriam's House
Miriam’s House, Lynchburg, is designed to end the cycle of homelessness for single women or mothers and their children. Not a shelter, Miriam’s House seeks to be preventative in nature for the children and rehabilitative for the adults. It is hoped that by offering a comprehensive program, individuals may be empowered to live independently.
WHEN? The weekends of July 12-13, July 19-20 and July 26-27
WHERE? Place your donations in the Collection Box in the
Commons any of the three weekends. We will deliver
your gifts to Miriam's House.
WHAT SHOULD I GIVE?

Why : An opportunity for our young men to draw close to the Lord and their brothers while learning more about discernment. Includes Mass, Adoration, Confession, and the Divine Office, opportunities for discipleship, fellowship and evangelization.
Cost: $100 per youth (Scholarships available)

EPIC is a one-day diocesan event for middle school youth (rising grades 6-8) to be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Saint Joseph’s Villa in Richmond, from 11:00am-7:00pm.
This event is intended to be a high-energy day that is focused on two things: (1) building community & friendships with other Catholic middle school youth, and (2) encouraging zeal for our Catholic faith. Throughout the day, youth will experience everything from inflatables to a service project, relay races to Mass.
Keynote sessions will highlight the lives of young saints and emphasize the universal call to holiness – every age, including middle school youth, is called to sainthood! At the end of the day, middle school youth will walk away feeling excited about their community and their faith. Join us, it is going to be EPIC!

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.

The Sanctuary/Commons Renovation
The carpet installation in the Commons is curently under way. The blue chairs in the sanctuary in the back and to the side of the altar platform will be recovered in stages starting this month.
